LinkedIn has been around since 2003 and unfortunately it still uses the business strategies from that era.The world is ready for a new democratic open social media site as an alternative to LinkedIn. This new social medium will a medium of today - open, free, democratic and Google minded. It will not just be a social networking site, but also a jobboard, job application and internet directory for all kinds ideas that can make a profit in a professional environment. In fact "networking" and "connecting" will come second to exchanging ideas.
It will become the Facebook for professionals, but also a vast database for SEO-friendly ideas.
The totally free professional social network
In 2003 it may have been acceptable to ask a monthly subscription fee for a premium account to access extra features But in 2014 users expect a social medium and all its features to be gratis. A valuable alternative to LinkedIn should be totally gratis to both natural persons and companies, with a totally free usability.
This also means that companies can post their job vacancies for free. And this will definitely attract companies to make an account on this new professional social medium. As a a side-effect some existing jobboards may file for bankruptcy. But if they are smart they transform themselves in an advertising agency for job advertisements.

How will this new medium make money when everything is free?
The answer to that is simple. Once source of income will be coming form Google advertising. This social media site will become a very important partner in the Google display network (Google AdSense). But this medium will also run its own advertising service, similar to the one of Facebook.
This means promoted pages, promoted posts, promoted job vacancies, promoted business ideas,... everything to make you noticed.
Democratic, open and less corporate
The new medium for professionals will be open to all professions, sprouting groups both white collar and blue collar, both office, factory, garage or kitchen floor. Whereas LinkedIn has a more corporate etiquette.
SEO-friendly groups on a very specific subject
Everybody can start a group , which is similar to a forum. But requests to start a group will be under scrutiny. Because this new medium does not want to make the same mistakes as Linkedin, sprouting numerous of groups about the same subject. Instead, persons and companies who want to start a group will be suggested to start one or more groups about specific Google keyword friendly subjects. For instance when a user submits the desire to start a group about internet marketing, and such a group already exists , it will suggest to start one or more groups on a specific part of internet marketing. Such groups could be: Social media marketing, Content marketing, SEO, SEA, Remarketing, ...
To give an other example if somebody wants to start a group about pizzas and there is already a general group about pizzas, this person will be suggested to start a group about pizza dough, vegetarian pizzas, meat pizza , fish pizzas, best pizza restaurants, pizza ovens, pizza cheeses, how to make a specific pizza, ...
There can exist a group for car mechanics about car engines. So if somebody wants to start a group about car engines he or she will be suggested to start a group about engines of a specific type of brand.

In LinkedIn it was important who you were connected with. In the new medium ideas are valued much higher than connections. Every user is free to contact another user directly. The new medium will stimulate creating ideas on innvation and growth of businesses.
ThinkTank and ThinkAgain
Every user can submit its ideas into the ThinkTank, which will become an online directory of business ideas. This will be a helpfull and money saving tool for all kinds of businesses. The new medium will encourage a job hiring policy bases on ideas, creativity and motivation, as an alternative method to resumé, experience and certificatons comparisons. ThinkTank will also play a key role in Google Authorship. Thinktank could be the online patent bureau of ideas.
ThinkAgain will become the forum of ThinkTank where these ideas can be discussed, often resulting in better ideas.

Contributions can be shared through other social media like Twitter, Facebook, VKontakte, Reddit, Google+, Tumblr, Blogger, etc.
