STADT - promising Belgian krautpop

Stadt (meaning 'City' in German)  is the story of 4 seasoned, through and through musicians from Belgium. After long trips through various musical settings and stylistic landscapes they have once again found each other with the formation of their new group, Stadt. Through their joint search, which has been at times concrete and others experimental, they have arrived at a kind of "new music".

Their debutalbum 'Some Kind of Diversion' mixes indie-rock with a small cloud of psychedelia and allows it to swell through the streets. You’ll be taken aback hearing Stadt, because behind that seemingly quiet city square lies a screeching boulevard full of traffic where sounds truly spring loose and burst open.

The Knife is a Swedish electronic music duo from Stockholm, formed in 1999. The group consists of siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, who together also run their own record company, Rabid Records. The group gained a large international following in response to their 2003 album Deep Cuts. The group and this specific album later received further attention when a cover of their song "Heartbeats", rearranged for acoustic guitar by José González, appeared in a Sony commercial. Subsequent songs have appeared on a number of television shows.

The duo's first tour took place in 2006, along with the release of their critically acclaimed album Silent Shout. They have won a number of Swedish Grammis, but refuse to attend awards ceremonies. They have appeared in public wearing Venetian masks. Andersson released a solo album under the name Fever Ray in 2009, while Olof Dreijer released several EPs as Oni Ayhun in late 2009 and early 2010.

Cut_ : dreamy electronic pop from the Netherlands

CUT_ (pronounced: cut underscore) is an Amsterdam based indie-pop duo consisting of producer Sebastiaan Dutilh and vocalist Belle Doron.

Their music is a response to the English Trip-hop and Dub sound of the past decade where they add a modern twist. Acts like Burial, Mount Kimbie, Massive Attack and James Blake are great sources of inspiration.

Their musical output is based around the concept of improvisation, both in the studio as live on stage. Live they add pre written songs to the improvised set as well as interactive visuals performed by Hidde de Jong. This fusion of live performance and electronics on both a visual and a musical level makes every show a unique experience.

Cut_ is most known for its cover of the Stromae song 'Papaoutai'  . Cut_ , however is definitely more than just  another poppy cover band.
And they are definitely more than a studio band, as proven here by the videos from the 3voor12 sessions live for the 3fm radiostation in the Netherlands.

In case you have never heard of the worldfamous Stromae song Papaoutai, enjoy the original video

SEPULTURA - Da Lama Ao Caos. Preparing for the FIFA Worldcup with a slice of pure Brazilian samba metal

Brazilian metal band Sepultura offers us a an excellent latin and tribal infused piece of mayhem with their song  Da Lama Ao Caos.

If your national soccer team is playing the FIFA Worldc up, it can definitely do with a track like this to boost their morale. Especially if their intention is to beat Brazil on their homeground.

Sepultura is a phenomenon. For over twenty-five years, the band from Brazil has been delivering a brutal mix of metal, hardcore, thrash, punk and tribal that could hardly be more intense or more passionate.

What had begun in Belo Horizonte in 1984 soon turned into a metal hurricane of threatening proportions and has taken on undreamt-of dimensions since the enlistment of American vocalist Derrick Green in 1998.

You have to experience this band live on stage to understand the fascination that this South-American act holds. And Sepultura's current songs always indicate the future of heavy metal.

Enjoy the Silence

A little gem that I have found on YouTube.
Unfortunately no composer is mentioned.
Once again Ira MusiK Love edited a nice video for an excellent tune.
