Altrego brings us Miraculous Epiphanies (live)

Young Belgian singer-songwriter Jasper Erkens moved to London  about 4 years ago to study at the prestigious BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology. The BRIT School is an exceptional educational institution where students achieve great things in academic, vocational and artistic studies.

I don't know anything about Jasper Erkens academic curriculum and achievements in that reknown BRIT school.  What I do know that it resulted in him reinventing himself as the artist "Altrego".

He self-produced his, yet to be released first EP, an eclectic mix of electro, rock and funk. The record was mixed by Valgeir Sigurdsson (Feist, Sigur Ros, Magic Numbers) and will be released on june 16th 2014.

King Creosote - For One Night Only (Official Video)

For One Night Only  will be released as the first single from King Creosote's forthcoming album, From Scotland With Love. 

Both single and album will be available on 21st July 2014.

Kenny Anderson, known primarily by his stage name King Creosote,is an independent singer-songwriter from Fife, Scotland. To date, Anderson has released over forty albums.

Anderson is also a member of Scottish-Canadian band The Burns Unit. 

In 2011, Anderson's collaborative album with Jon Hopkins, Diamond Mine, was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

French author/DJ/composer/producer Julien Barthe reinvents himself as a "quality sound dresser" under the name of Plaisir de France, remixing a song from an arty LA rock band, called Alpine Decline that moved to Bejing, China. It all sounds a bit weirdn but it seems to work.

Alpine Decline albums are the kind you listen to compulsively, perhaps even excessively. Stadt (meaning 'City' in German)  is the story of 4 seasoned, through and through musicians from Belgium. After long trips through various musical settings and stylistic landscapes they have once again found each other with the formation of their new group, Stadt. Through their joint search, which has been at times concrete and others experimental, they have arrived at a kind of "new music". 

Their debutalbum 'Some Kind of Diversion' mixes indie-rock with a small cloud of psychedelia and allows it to swell through the streets. You’ll be taken aback hearing Stadt, because behind that seemingly quiet city square lies a screeching boulevard full of traffic where sounds truly spring loose and burst open.

Christian Death - The Drowning

Christian Death is an American rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California in 1979 by Rozz Williams. With their debut album Only Theatre of Pain (1982), they became a highly influential act, heralding the American gothic rock and deathrock movements.

After having booked a European tour, Christian Death broke up amid band in-fighting and drug abuse. Williams assembled a new version of the band in 1983 by merging with their scheduled opening act, another L.A. rock band, Pompeii 99. This lineup included guitarist Valor Kand, vocalist-keyboardist Gitane Demone and drummer David Glass. The band went on to record their next two albums, Catastrophe Ballet and Ashes, under this lineup.

In 1985, Rozz Williams left Christian Death, in part due to his increasing interest in experimental music and performance art. Valor Kand took over leadership, serving as lead vocalist and songwriter.

During the late '80s, Rozz Williams resurrected his own version of Christian Death, with his wife Eva O contributing guitar as well as vocals. Billing themselves as the original Christian Death, they were rejoined by first-album guitarist Rikk Agnew for a 1989 tour of Canada. The band was signed to Cleopatra Records, and released The Iron Mask, Skeleton Kiss EP, The Path of Sorrows and The Rage of Angels under the Christian Death name.

Japanese rock band Pinky Doodle Poodle releases first album

The Japanese rock band Pinky Doodle Poodle has just released their first album on Good Charamel Records, The album  is also titled "Pinky Doodle Poodle" and can be bought on itunes and amazon.

Pinky Doodle Poodle is a high energy, female fronted rock band from Tokyo, Japan formed in 2008. PDP features lead vocalist/bassist/guitarist Yuria, a successful Japanese anime singer often heard in popular video games in Japan as well as on solo records and with her band Honey Bee (2004-2007). Rounding out the duo on guitar is George, a long haired shredder/composer who brings PDP a musical sound reminiscent of a marriage of the MC5 and Bad Brains swirling under Yuria’s playful Japanese/English lyrics and melodies.

Having recently done tours of Japan, Europe and a few select dates around the New York area in 2012, PDP is now concentrating their efforts on US markets and fans around North America and will be a featured performer at the J-POP SUMMIT FESTIVAL 2014 in San Francisco, CA on July 20th 2014 as well as performing some other select dates in the US.

Lolita KompleX delivers an 'interesting' cover of "All the thing she said" by t.A.T.u.

Austrian alternative band Lolita KompleX delivers an 'interesting' cover of "All the things she said" by t.A.T.u. 

After the break-up of his former band Sanguis et Cinis, Eve Evangel founded Lolita KompleX in early 2008 to realize his idea of a Lolita fashion inspired, but independent Gothic Metal band. In 2011 Lolita Komplex released their first album titled Le Cabaret de Marionnettes.The album got a lot of positive feedback and was received well by the alternative media calling Lolita KompleX a band on the rise.Cabaret des Marionnettes"shows all different facettes of Lolita KompleX from traditional gothic, driving metal, raw punk, melancholic rock to edgy visual kei and even electro. Later that year Lolita KompleX did a tour through Japan playing Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto

In april  2013 Lolita Komplex came back in colaboration with psychobilly/punkrockers Kitty in a Casket. with the single and video of"All the things she said", which of course is a cover of the hit single from Russian girl group t.A.T.u. The band is currently working on their 2nd album.

Punk rock-'n-roll icon Frank Dubbe stars in video of local electro band Diskonnekted

Belgian punk and Rock-'n-roll icon Frank Dubbe, lead man of Revenge 88 (a band formerly known as Stagebeast and Moonlight Crow) has been making a name for himself in the Belgian music scene since the late seventies. Any kind of association with electronic dance music is realy the last thing you would expect from this old-school punk and rock-'n-roll musician from Oostende. However, the much appraised amateur photographer Romuald "Ishoothorizon" Swieconek has made a music video for the alternative electro band Diskonnekted featuring the senior citizen of Punkville, Frank Dubbe.

For who doesn't know Frank Dubbe. He's the charismatic man with his inseparable cowboy hat.
